As Sterling House is in Exeter City Centre it can be expensive and take time to drive in by car. We therefore recommend considering the alternatives which are listed first.

On Foot and Bicycle

For arriving on foot see Exeter Walking Map

Exeter is a demonstration city for cycling with a comprehensive network of safe cycle routes, mainly off road. To view a PDF of 'Exeter City Cycle Routes' click here.

You can even plan your cycle journey by using Transport Direct.

If arriving by bike the nearest bike rack is located in front of the Tourist Information Centre which is on the opposite side of the street.

By Rail

Exeter Central is the nearest station to Sterling House and is 5 - 10 minutes walk.

Tip: Save time walking from Exeter Central: After getting off the train instead of leaving the station through the main exit where the covered footbridge is, instead walk to the far (uncovered) end of the platform and up to the road bridge where you should turn right. Follow this road uphill continuing straight on at two sets of traffic lights. At the third set of traffic lights turn right. You will shortly come to a T junction with Sterling House ahead and slightly to the left (dark red brick).

Most long distance services (e.g. from London Paddington, Bristol, Taunton, Midlands, Cornwall) arrive at Exeter St Davids. If arriving here you have a number of options:

  1. Walk - There a signposted route to the city centre (about 15-20 mins)
  2. Cycle - Use Transport Direct to plan your route - although be aware that it is mainly uphill. You may be able to take your bike on a train to Exeter Central.
  3. Train - A 3 minute journey to Exeter Central. Frequency during the day is generally every 10 -20 minutes.
  4. Bus - Around 10 minute journey to Exeter City Centre. Frequency during the day is generally every 5-10 minutes.
  5. Taxi - Around 10 minute journey. We recommend Exeter Eco Cars. This environmentally friendly hybrid car creates a smaller carbon footprint.
    Call 01392 259 880 to book.
If unavailable try Gemini who 01392 66 66 66 and request one of their hybrid cars.

By Bus

Sterling House is under 5 minutes walk from Exeter Bus Station and the High Street bus stops that most services in Exeter pass through. Use Transport Direct - to plan your journey or call Traveline on  0871 200 22 33

By Car

Due to city centre congestion, car park charges and the lack of a car park specifically for the office we recommend using Park & Ride. To select the best P&R service for you see the map.
