
How to find the research and statistics you need.
1. Where can I find the number of visitors that come to an area? These can be found by accessing the Value of Tourism reports. Please note that no data is held for individual destinations e.g Newquay - the lowest geographical level available is for a local authority district area.
The latest regional data can be found in the South West Facts documents.
The Occupancy Section of this site has serviced and self catering occupancy rates to help provide an estimate of likely business levels.
The 2007 Value of Tourism report provides details of visitor spend and accommodation stocks across the region.
This information can be found in the South West Attractions reports, which contain individual attraction visitor numbers taken from the national VisitBritain report, "Visits to Visitor Attractions".
Please note that participation in this report is voluntary, so if the attraction you are looking for is not listed they have either declined to take part or have requested that their figures be kept confidential.

The Value of Tourism reports provide details of volume, value and employment generated through tourism to a district level across the South West.
Information such as visitor origins, age, group size and socio-economic status can be found in the South West Facts documents.
