The event will showcase ‘the best of the South West tourist industry' including; visitor destinations and attractions, activity providers, event organisers, group accommodation providers, coach companies and tourism trade groups and will take place at Westpoint Arena, Exeter on 23rd January 2010.
Exhibition organiser, Resort Marketing Ltd, has served the tourist industry for the last 18 years with its series of ‘Resort' visitor magazines and the show is an extension of the company's commitment to tourism in the south west.
‘This will be the first exhibition of its kind for some years dedicated to tourism in our area. It's a chance for everyone involved in this region's tourism industry to showcase their businesses to a broad range of visitors including; group visit organisers, teachers, the travel trade and travel journalists,' said Brian Cooper, managing director, Resort Marketing.
The National Marine Aquarium, Royal Signals Museum, Weymouth Sea Life Park, Trevarno Estate and Gardens and Splashdown are just some of the companies that have already committed to the event.
There will also be two seminars taking place during Visit 2010 which will focus on sharing industry knowledge and insight.
Robin Barker, industry guru and Managing Director of Services for Tourism Ltd, will lead the first seminar, ‘Awards - Are You a Winner or a Loser?' During this session Robin will explore the importance of entering industry awards, offer advice on how to become an award winner and how to use awards to a commercial advantage.
The second seminar, ‘The Staycation Capitalized' will showcase key learnings from industry bodies on the staycation phenomenon. A discussion focused on the rewards reaped by UK tourism as a result of this economically driven trend and how to maximise this movement in 2010 will also be included.
The event's Travel Sponsor, First Great Western will be providing rail travel to the show for teachers, group travel organisers, travel trade and journalists. Shuttle buses will also be running from St. David's train station, Exeter to Westpoint.
